Obituary for Marie Balsie

Marie  Balsie
Marie Ann Balsie, (nee: Dubick) , age 99, of Crest Hill, passed away peacefully at her home, Tuesday July 25, 2017.


Born May 9, 1918 in Rockdale and lived in Summit, Rockdale, Joliet, and Crest Hill.


Marie is survived by her two daughters and son, Joyce Marie (Julius) Forneris, Roberta Ann (Ronald) Simonic, and Robert William (Dr . Mary) Balsie; loving grandchildren Julianna Forneris, Janice (the late Jeffrey) Nason, Rebecca Simonic, Dr. Ramanda Marie Simonic, and Randolph (Amber) Simonic; great-grandchildren, Evita, Allegra, Hudson Simonic-Moreno, Jozef, Alekzander, Addizyn Marie Simonic. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.


Preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Balsie (1989); parents, Michael and Anna (Sukachz) Dubick; siblings, Michael (Mary) Dubick, Sophie (William) Bilenko, Agnes (Frank) Ghid ara ; grandchild, Lauren Marie Balsie.
Bob and Marie lived a great life, provided for their family and enjoyed many hobbies. Bob was an avid fisherman and gardener and most of all he loved spending time with his dog Ivan and his family. Marie enjoyed cooking and ballroom dancing. Together they travelled the world and enjoyed the company of their family. Marie retired from Joliet Wrought Washer in Rockdale. She continued ballroom dancing with friends at Willowbrook Ballroom every Sunday afternoon until the age of 90.


A private celebration of Marie and Bob Balsie was held on Monday August 7, 2017 at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery Chapel at 11:00 a.m. followed by their internment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
